What types of things are
removed?
Your local junk removal office will remove almost anything if it
can be lifted by two people and is not hazardous. Examples include:
Furniture - Couch, sofa-bed, mattress, armchair, cupboard, filing
cabinets
Appliances - fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, computer, stereo, printer, TV, fax
machine
Garden refuse/Green waste - branches, grass, leaves, soil, dirt, sod, compost,
turf
Wood - fencing, firewood, lumber, plywood, shed, gate
Basement, loft & garage - boxes, books, kitchenware, tools, clothes,
fireplace, lawn mower
Construction/demolition debris - plaster, drywall, broken patio, pallet,
crate, glass, concrete
Roofing / Flooring - tiles, asphalt, carpet, wood, flooring
They cannot remove Hazardous Materials, including paint, chemicals, solvents,
motor oils, asbestos, propane tanks, creosote (railway ties), biological or medical related waste.
Please contact your local office if you have questions or require further
clarification. If you have materials that cannot be accepted, your local office will assist you with finding an
environmentally friendly solution.
Do junk removal trucks offer
moving services?
Yes. Trucks are properly equipped to move as well. Your items can
be moved from one room to another on the same site for an additional fee.
Can I recycle and donate?
Yes. Your local office can donate any reusable furniture,
electronics, clothing and home wares to local charities. Even salvageable construction debris can be donated to
charities.
How do you charge?
In general charges are accessed by volume, in terms of how much
space your junk takes up in a truck. However, if you are wishing to dispose of heavier materials such as concrete or plaster,
surcharges would apply for the additional disposal fees.
How much notice do you require?
In most instances a junk removal truck can be out to your location
within a 24-48 hour time frame. If you are looking to get your junk removed on a specific day and time please call your local
office to schedule ahead.
Do I have to be at the property to have the
job done?
Not always. Provided that your materials can be accessed, you can
be called with a quote.
How big is a junk removal truck?
The truck can hold up to 15 cu yards or 400 cubic feet measuring
10 ft. (L) x 8 ft. (W) x 5 ft. (H).
What is a cubic yard? What is a cubic foot?
A cubic yard is 3 ft. high x 3 ft. wide x 3 ft deep, equivalent to
27 cubic feet. A cubic foot is a block 1 ft. high x 1 ft. long x 1 ft. deep.
What equipment does a junk removal truck come
with?
Aside from two laborers, trucks come equipped with disposal bins,
a dolly, garbage bags and various tools to ensure that your junk is removed safely.
What do you do with the
junk?
Recyclable material removed from homes and businesses is donated
to either a local charity or taken to a recycle facility. The waste material is disposed of at a landfill or transfer
station.
